Celebrate Zozobra’s Centennial with Santa Fe County’s Summer Safety Campaign

Santa Fe, NM – To enhance public safety and curb the occurrence of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) in our community, the Santa Fe County DWI Program is excited to launch its Summer Bar and Restaurant Campaign. This year’s campaign is especially significant as it commemorates the 100th Burning of Zozobra in partnership with the Kiwanis Club whose image is designed by Firestik Studios. Each summer, the DWI Program releases a unique safety campaign that features our DWI message across bars, restaurants, liquor stores, and coffee shops throughout the County.

As warmer weather draws more people out to enjoy local nightlife, the importance of making safe choices cannot be overstated. This campaign, running throughout the summer season, is aimed at patrons and establishments, encouraging responsible drinking and promoting the “Take a Ride on Us” program.

“We are committed to reducing the number of DWI incidents in Santa Fe County,” said Chanelle Delgado, Santa Fe County Youth Services Administrative Program Manager. “We believe that we can make a significant impact through community partnerships and proactive education. Enjoying the summer doesn’t have to include making choices that put you or others at risk.”

Throughout the campaign, residents can expect to see educational materials in participating establishments, bus wraps, social media outreach, and community events designed to promote safe and responsible fun.

The DWI Program thanks the community and local businesses for their support and cooperation in this crucial initiative. A special thanks to The Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe for the opportunity to tie in this unique Santa Fe cultural milestone with our DWI message.

Let’s make this summer season safe and enjoyable for all. Remember, the best choice is always to plan ahead and drink responsibly.
